Traffic between Oxford & Manchester Friday after work?

I have to drive to manchester from oxford on Friday...after work. What's the traffice like? what's the best time to leave etc? Thanks x

It probably wouldn't be too bad going in the other direction!!! The best time to leave Oxford is before 11am or after 11pm!!! Don't think that keeping on following the 42 westbound to the M5 will be any better than the 42 north cos I expect they will both be a nightmare! Good luck, and if you wanna pop in for a pee break and cuppa coffee on your way past gimme a shout!!
