    Compton is the part of LA that has given LA its bad reputation. 1/2 of the crime in the entire LA area seems to occur there. Stay on the freeway as you go in and out from work. Only go on surface streets the minimum distance from the 91 to your job. DO not hang around after dark. These days one cannot pass up on a job. Just get in and out promptly.

It's fine. I have lived in Gardena 40 years and work at times in Compton at times. I have never seen any crime. Did see a shooting in the McDonalds across the street once, in Hawthorne, about 20 years ago ... does that count?
