How old do you have to be to drive in california?

This copied directly from the CA DMV website. ~~~~~~~~ Before being eligible to take your driving test you must: * Be 16 years old AND * Have held your permit for a minimum of six months AND * Have completed driver education AND * Have completed 6 hours of professional driver training AND * Have completed 50 hours of practice with an adult 25 years or older. The adult must have a valid California driver license and certify to the 50 hours of practice. At least 10 of the 50 hours must have been done at night. To take your driving test, you will need to: * Make a driving test Appointment(s) . (Driving tests are not given without an appointment.) You may also call 1-800-777-0133 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, to make a driving test appointment. * Provide proof of financial responsibility ~~~~~~~~ You need to be 18 to drive other people and over 21 (I think) to drive one of those really big vans.

Im not for sure but I think its the same as most States. 16 and to legally drive 24/7 i think 18

My cousin is 16 and she can drive there. But i think its driving with other people thats not allowed

18 i got my license you just have to pass test

16 but you must have had your permit for 6 months and completed behind the wheel

15 for a learners permit and 16 for the license. Please be careful though as accidents kill a LOT of folks every single day. Check out the DMV though for exact details...

If u have a perment & ur with an adult 15 & if u just have a perment 16

You can obtain a training permit in Calif at 15.5 years old. The stipulation is that a licensed driver (I think its 21 years or older...) must be IN the car with you. I was allowed to go to the feed store and pick up hay and grain at 15.5 but not joy ride or cruise around downtown. I lived rural though
