Where can I get free moving boxes?

Local party store, maybe grocery store, drug store, or farmer;s market. They usually have them broke down and banded for recycling.

Go behind some local grocery stores. They throw them out back frequently. You can also just ask the stores if they have any.

Screw the food stores. Go talk the the shift manager of McDonalds or BK, or any one of those stores, They make empty fry boxes like 6 pershift. And those boxes will not be perferated on the side for easy breakage.

I actually stopped by one of the places that does big corporate moves, (Either an Allied Movers or Corrigan) to inquire about buying a few boxes from them. Since it was only a few, they gave me nice, new, boxes for free, along with some packaging paper, and bubble wrap. I guess in never hurts to ask.

wine stores have a lot of empty boxes out back. that's where we went when we moved.

Go to any retail store and ask for boxes. I have done this many times and they are happy to get rid of them.

Having moved many many times in my life I can tell you that the best thing to do is to go to the grocery store or even to walmart and talk to customer service and ask if they can save you some boxes. If you go to the grocery store go back to produce or the dairy department and ask for some boxes. If you have some money to spend then you may want to purchase some plastic bins which are good for storage and keeping things safe. Special moving boxes costs money thats why I went to Walmart and the grocery stores because they will give you the boxes for free.
