How safe is Islington?

How do you get from Islington Station to Yonge-Eglinton Centre by ttc?

  • Also, I'm getting to Islington Station from Mississauga Transit. Can I use my transfer to get on a bus or subway from there? Or will I need to pay again? If so, how much?

  • Answer:

Simple. There are two ways depending on where you live in Mississauga: VIA SUBWAY: 1. From Islington Station, you have to pay your TTC fare ($3.00) since the TTC and the 905 systems don't have a fare agreement. 2. Take the Bloor-Danforth Subway Line to Yonge Station. 3. Follow your way that says "Yonge Trains Northbound". Once you see it, go to that stair. Go upstairs. Now, you must be on Bloor Station. 4. Now, take the northbound Yonge Line to Eglinton Station. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: If the next stop said "Wellesley" instead of "Rosedale", then you're on the wrong direction! Get off at Wellesley Station, then switch to the other platform to go northbound. 5. Get off at Eglinton Station. 6. Get out of the subway station. 7. Walk northbound and cross Eglinton Avenue. 8. You're at your destination. ---------------------------------------… VIA EGLINTON BUSES: If you live at a walking distance from 35/35A Eglinton, then you don't even need to take the subway at all! 1. Just take Route 35/35A Eglinton eastbound, then get off at Skymark and Commerce. No need to take a transfer. It will be useless for TTC. 2. TTC's 32 Eglinton West serves the same stop, so stay on that stop, and when TTC's 32 arrives, take that bus. 3. You'll have to pay a separate fare of $3.00 since the TTC and the 905 systems don't have fare integration. 4. Get off at Eglinton Subway Station. 5. Get out of the subway station. 6. Walk northbound and cross Eglinton Avenue. 7. You're at your destination.

From Islington take a Kennedy-bound train (Bloor-Danforth line) to Bloor-Yonge station, transfer to a Finch-bound train (Yonge-University-Spadina line) to Eglinton station. http://www.ttc.ca/Subway/interactivemap.jsp A check of the Mississauga Transit website indicates that transfers are only bus to bus. http://www.mississauga.ca/portal/miway/transfers You will have to pay the full fare to get on the subway. A single fare token on the TTC Subway is $3.00. If you buy 3 tokens for $7.80 the cost per token drops to $2.60 http://www.ttc.ca/Fares_and_passes/Prices/index.jsp
