Vehicle registration renewal in California?

Can i use my California's Driver License & Vehicle Registration in Nebraska?

  • I've been living in California for 9 years and now i need to relocate to Omaha, Nebraska for a year for job training. Can i use my CA driver license in Omaha? How about my vehicle registration? because i plan to ship my car to Omaha and use it. P.S that would be great if you know any legit link that provide information. Thanks.

    http://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=60-488 As a non-resident of Nebraska you can use your Californian license *IF* you are a full time student of an "institution of postsecondary education" *AND* you maintain as a resident of California. A company school would be an "institution of postsecondary education". If you are will be in Nebraska *only* for training and you will return to California you can use your California drivers' license and registration. If you will be in Nebraska in training and will be then going to an different State, you need to get a Nebraska driver's license and car registration. Note: CO's site's 60 day limit is for existing Nebraska license. You have only 30 days to become a Nebraskan resident.
