Does Yahoo offer eFax service?

Does Yahoo! Finance offer an escrow service for someone selling a car?

  • The seller wants me to wire $4,000 to her prior to seeing the vehicle. She claims to have a hearing problem and is afraid of making a transaction this big. Her offer includes shipping the car to me and all I want to do is inspect the car, pay her cash, sign the title and drive it away. I have received 4 emails from YAHOO FINANCE [[email protected]] assuring me that the seller is legit and this service is turstworthy. There are numerous misspellings, so I suspect this is not the work of Yahoo! even though the logo looks official and the message layout looks professional. Do you agree?

  • Answer:

NO! This is a SCAM! Yahoo! Finance offers NO SUCH SERVICE! NEVER send funds by wire for ANY purchase! If this is an international deal, keep in mind that transoceanic shipment takes 6 - 8 weeks. They'd be LONG GONE with your money by the time you figured out that you'd been scammed! Ask yourself this question: Why would "Yahoo Finance" use a mail.com e-mail address? Of course not! That and he misspellings should tell you that the whole thing is a SCAM!
