What type of car is good for colorado?

2011 (or 2012) Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 with the 5.7L HEMI V8. My friend has one. It drives like a tank in snow, is one of the most refined, comfortable SUV's ever, and has amazing power with the HEMI. MDS technology allows it to get low 21mpg on the highway with the HEMI. There are a lot of nice cars with 4 wheel drive, but some are electronic controlled, while others are automatic and still others are manual. Some of the nice cars, Audi, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc. are low to the ground, they just have 4 wheel drive for highway use, and probably do not have low range. Snow gets packed up under the wheel wells. (had an 85 Subaru that did that). I would look into some of the higer ground clearance 4 x 4, with automatic full time/ part time drive, allowing you to drive in both 2 wheel drive when 4 wheel is not needed. Full time means you can drive in on the dry pavement without ruining the drivetrain... (Part time, requires stopping and putting the vehicle into 2 wheel drive and unlocking the front wheels) Full time lets you put it into 2 wheel drive, sometimes when moving slowly...or into 4 wheel drive, same thing. There is a reason there are so many Subaru's on the road and why they are more expensive (and harder to find for sale) in places like Colorado. You question is the answer as to why if you were playing Jeopardy for cash you would win a big prize. But we aren't! Subaru has enlarged is line up to include SUV cars as well as AWD sports sedans. Unless you just have to be different I would suggest that you stick with a the more mundane (Subaru).

The new Mercedes M-class is very nice I would look into those. Mercedes never fails at making an amazing car, and the M-class is no exception. You might also want to consider the Land Rovers but those can be a bit pricey.
