some foreign cars are illegal in the US are you sure your car is legal in the US? if is then you have to pay customs fees, duty fees, find a custom broker then shipping fees from the west coast.. I'm doubtful you will save any money this way I would check with an attoney and a dealer to make sure

Depends on if you want it shipped by Ocean or Air. I would start calling around steam ship lines to get a quote for a container and how much to get it shipped. Aways get the insurance....boats sink. Some you may try-NYK, Hanjin, Marek. Some of the main ports for ocean on the east coast will be NY, Virginia, NJ, and the Florida coast. Good luck.
