Where To Buy Prime Mango In Canada?

Moving to Canada, but should I buy a car in the US before I go?

  • I am planning to move to Toronto Canada within the next couple of months, and want to buy a used Lexus RX300 suv to take with me. Questions: 1) Will I run into any tax or car specs problems bringing the car into Canada? 2) What car insurance company should I look at? 3) Is it wise to buy the car in the US? Or should I buy the car in Canada?

  • Answer:

    1) Yes, you may run into problems. Possible taxes, but likely quite low. But what your problems may be will be if your car meets Canadian regulations. Usually you can get these things fixed (changed) for >$1000. 2) Shop around. Just like the US, it'll depend on where you live, how old you are, etc. Some companies will offer lower rates than others. 3) YES. I mean, look at some cars in the US, look at them in Canada and compare prices, but generally prices from the US are much lower than those in Canada. You can take a look at this extensive thread on a forum that talks about EXACTLY what you are trying to do! Cars are cheaper in the US, the only difference is the speedometer and the odometer will read in miles not km. If you don't sell the car for 6 months you will not have to pay taxes on it, if you do you will. Your US insurance will be valid till you have time to register and insure it in Canada.
