What is a good first car, a toyota prius, or a vw beetle?

    Prius. It can easily seat 4 big persons. I had five big guys in it once (Okay, not true, 4 big guys and me). With backseats down, it can fit most large items. Safety features include front and side air-bags. It can go uphill and not strain the engine (why? because the high torque electric engine kicks in). On the way down, the engine turns off, and gravity rechanges the batteries. (Hybrids make sense because lots of energy is spent getting a vehicle to cruising speed. The battery reclaims some of this energy upon slowing down or braking. Otherwise, the energy is lost as heat (on the brake pads). Hybrids is a technology to conserve energy. I ride my Prius with extra tire inflation at 38 psi front, 36 psi back, and regularly get 50 miles per gallon. People ask about the car. "Where do you plug it in?" And it is joy to drive. However, as a first vehicle, I would suggest a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic. They are inexpensive and reliable. Or a used vehicle.

i own a shop,and one of the best first cars you can buy is a Nissan sentra ,there probably one of the best cars on the road today,the insurance is real cheap on them,because there not considered to a sporty car,but they look really good ride good and do real good on fuel also, i own one,and i like it a lot,but you might want to look at one,you,ll be surprised at how they run and drive,and the best thing about them is there very dependable,that means a lot these days,good luck,i hope this help,s.
