How can i get my car? ..should i get a loan? how?

  • i am 16 years old. and i want to have my own car. now i want an updated car but no more than 5 years old. i talked to my parents about getting a car but they were like sure but you gotta find the car. you gotta find the money and you gotta find one under 10 grand. ..my parents said they would make payments on my car for me but i stil need to find out how loans go. i am with the navy reaserach credit union. ... can you help me what should my plan be? how am i going to find these things and get my car

They should try the CU you are with first. Your CU can finance your car as a car loan. That's the best way to go. With a car loan, the amount you pay in interest decreases each month as you pay down the principle. And that's a whole lot better than a personal loan. A personal loan makes you pay the same amount of interest each month. Your best bet to find the Cobalt you want it to try your local Chevy dealer. Hopefully you'll find a certified used car which gives you an extended 1 year warranty at no extra cost. Find the car. Have you mom and dad shop for the best APR. Then thank them for being so helpful.

check with your credit union. they are often the best places to get loans and also often offer good deals on repo cars to their members... but you will need a parent on the loan as you are under age. look for a foreign compact, they'll last well, get good fuel economy and be decent to drive. civic, rabbit and mazda 3 are the best drivers cars, the rabbit is not reliable and the mazda 3 will be the cheapest to find in your price range.
