How long does it take to get title on a used car from Canada purchased in U.S.?

• Used car from Canada was purchased from used car dealer in U.S. No loans. Dealer says it takes a long time to get title because of paperwork. How do I expedite process?

  Some cross border sales are a little edgy, I used to buy convoy loads of year old Chrysler Intrepids (I know its a Dodge, but in Canada its a Chrysler).Then Daimler quashed all cross border warranty sales and killed my enterprise. The companies I did business with were all at least 1 state removed from the border, I never got around to flying up to find out how they worked because I was truly curious, they carried everything-high end Ford trucks V8 Mustangs Corvettes-at a premium- and a load of mundane lo-mile virtually new inventory. To answer your question I have no idea how to speed things up or slow them down or if there is a tarriff or not, you might want to check on a "friends" car.
