How old were you when you got your first car, how much did it cost, what was your first car?

  • I'm coming to that age of being legal to drive and I have no clue on how much it costs for anything, other than a car. Of course there's the driving test costs to look into and how much insurance wise it would be for me. I'm interested in knowing how old you were when you got your first car and how much did it cost you to get driving! The best answer for 10 points will be the person who can answer my main questions the best: 1. How much does the average driving test cost? And how long do they take to complete? 2. How much would my insurance cost? (I would be 17 and have a current license for riding a moped, and I have had no accidents or points taken). 3. How much would it realistically cost me to get on the road with everything included? Thank you!

    In 2005, I was 15, I got a 1994 Mustang Gt for $3500 1. Depends where you live. Here in texas, we dont have to take a test or go to a school. we can get a parent taught liscense. or at least you could in 2005. 2. Would vary drastically depending on alot of variables. Liability on an econobox would probably start at around $70 per month. Shop around. 3. 2500 would probably be absolutely bare bones. 5000 would be realittic.

i got my first car at 17, it cost 9k, and it was a 2002 dodge ram 2500 1. driving tests are free (for me at least) the price to get the license was about 25 bucks 2. for a moped it would be about $100-$200 a year (i shoulda got a moped) 3. it will vary depending on what kinda moped you get i would guess between 1,000-1,500
