Whats a good starter motorbike?

I'm looking to get a motorbike for maybe around 1000$ and i was wondering what a good bike to start with is?

It Depends what your After, my First bike was an Aprilia RS50, And have ninced moved up to a RS125. Great fun, and Eye openers, and look Great. If your After a Crosser style ( Dirt Bike ) id reccomend an Enduro, they are also a lot of fun to ride and handle well on all Surface. Good luck =)
