Has anyone heard of eBay’s vehicle purchase protection program?

  • The Vehicle is located in PA and I live in TX. I am not familiar with this and I am leery about this and rather make the purchase in person. This is how she explained it to me "1. I will contact eBay and give them all the info about this deal. 2. They will accept the transaction and will offer their vehicle purchase protection. 3. You will send the money to eBay and once the payment is received, they will confirm to me your transfer, and I will start the shipping process. 4. You will receive your car in maximum 2 days and after you’ll inspect/test drive the car and decide to keep it, you’ll notify eBay and they will forward the money to me. 5. If by any reason the car is not as described or if you find any problems with it, it will be shipped back (on my costs) and you will be 100% refunded. I'm sure it won't be the case because it's a good vehicle. You will have 7 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. I apologize if it seems like I'm pushing on this deal but I really want to be sure everything is clarified. Please don't misunderstand it. I'm not forcing you to complete the deal in any way. If you don't agree with the terms stated there you can withdraw from this transaction, but if you do, I am waiting for your full name and full address so the eBay sends you the deposit form via e-mail."

This is a SCAM. Ebay doesn't hold, distribute or guarantee funds.They are like a newspaper, for advertising only. Once you send your money to this ebay so called account it is gone. That's actually the scammers account.All emails ,car info and vin# ,pictures are fake and from the scammer. The car info is from someone elses ad. If you send your money it will be gone and no way to get it back.This is a known scam on ebay and craigslist. No one ships a car across county so you might buy it. Do not proceed it is a SCAM. Only buy a car that you can look at , drive and inspect and pay in person so you will be safe............ujn

SCAM!!! There is no ebay protection program. Any time shipping is included it is a SCAM. Ebay has nothing to do with vehicles sold outside of their site. There is actually no car for sale. These people just took information from a legitimate listing. Break contact with them ASAP.

LOL. Let me guess...the vehicle was found on Craigslist. This does not sound like a scam to you? I wish I had the money to ship cars all over the place just because I can! --------------------------------------… 5.
