Sample of an intent to sell letter for my car?

  • Ok, I feel like an idiot :) I am selling my car, and I have been asked for a letter of intent to sell. I can't find a template anywhere.. can someone give me the basics of what to put in it? Thanks!

    I, blah blah, intend to sell my car to you, the idiot, for the amount of $xxxx. Who needs this? A BIll of Sale can be found anywhere. If the car is paid for, signing the title immediately transfers ownership. What do they want, a guarantee? I'll tell you what this person wants. He/she wants something that's locked in, in case they can't find a better deal or the car they REALLY want. He/she wants to hold you to your word while he/she continues to shop. Get them to sign a Letter of Intent to Purchase. See how that goes. Good luck.
