What would be a decent used driver that I could buy?

I am a new driver and am planning to buy my first car (used). Should i get a coupe or sedan? Reasons?

  • I will be paying for everything myself (insurance, fees, car, etc.). And i am a pretty safe driver. So do you think a coupe or sedan would be more fit for me?

    Coupes are sportier looking, but the insurance is generally higher. It's also harder to get friends in and out of the back seat. Sedans are more conservative looking, and easier on back seat passengers.

you'll get slightly better insurance with a sedan. also, as long as it's not a big pile, the police generally seem to look the other way, and may not harass you for a few mph over the speed limit. a sedan is also handy for carting around the rest of your freeloading friend. trust me, that never ever ends. however, a coupe usually is a much sportier ride.

Your question is vauge. How long have you been driving? Do you know how to drive a stick? Where do you live? Do you get really bad winters there? Do you have a preference for Front wheel drive, Rear wheel drive? All wheel drive? Do you expect to be driving with multiple passengers? Are you tall, short, skinny or over weight?

Maybe a coupe...but if you drive around with friends and family a lot then a sedan might be more practical. I drive a coupe, and I like it. But I also have no wife or kids that need to climb in and out of the backseat.

Find out from your insurance agent which cars have lowest rates and take it from there.
