I want to buy a brand new car BUT it will also be my first car....?

No one is going to sell you a car without any credit history, especially now.

Get something older and cheaper until you have enough experience and wait until after your first wreck to get a new car. Every new driver has a first wreck before they learn how much they do not know about driving. Many never have a second wreck - either they became a good driver or they did not survive the first one.

don't buy a new car... insurance will crush you if you buy a nice car 20 years old it will be half of a new one or even less. you job is your only credit at our age. you will need a cosigner to buy one. i drive an 85 chevy truck 95 a month and thats cheap because i have friends in the 300 range.

Well, you're not going to be able to get a loan because you're not 18.... but lets pretend you could - First of all, at 17 years old and only being able to put away $200 a month towards savings, that tells me there is NO way you'd be able to afford the monthly payments on a 2010 Ford Mustang, or Honda Civic Si. Let alone the insurance premiums you'd have due to being 17, a male, and that sporty of a car. Second of all, at 17 years all you have no credit, if you do its very very little - you would probably not get approved for that big of a loan. (you realize these cars cost $21-22k respectively, and then you have finance charges, and DMV fees, then if you want to purchase gap insurance, and or an extended warranty, also other fees included for actual sale) After all the fees you are probably looking at about $24k total Thirdly - IF you got approved for a loan your interest rate would be murder, thus jacking up how much you owe by another few thousand dollars. Fourth, referring to you not being able to afford the car at 17 if you can only afford to save $200/mo right now - you'd be looking @ huge monthly bills.. If the car, with all the fees and interest brought your loan to say... $26-27k - you'd still owe $21-22k after your $5k down payment, and that would land you a payment of about $400-500 a month if not more due to your lack of credit I could go on and on abut how impractical it would be to even try for a car like that at your age, but this is already quite lengthy. Do yourself a favor and buy a used car for your first car.

dude do not get a brand new car ! insurance is expensive ! you have to think about insurance ! & its really expensive for young and old drivers . trust me ! im 15 going on 16 and my first car is probably gonna be a 2003-2006 Nissan Sentra . get a used car plus insurance is gonna be more since its a sports car !

I think that the Honda Civic SI will be better because... 1. First of all, i have the same one so I know it is good 2. It has a better Mileage 3. I think it is cheaper ... Well I hope I helped

I would maybe go with the Honda.. if it's your first car. Although mustangs look great, they will put your insurance through the roof. If you bought brand new.. you would be paying the car off untill your 25 maybe. I would start looking on www.kijiji.com for local listings see if you can find it used.
