I've had my '4 Nissan King Cab for 5 years and have put over 200k miles on it with narry a problem. It gets 28mpg on the hiway and around 24 in town. It's been a great truck and I look forward to another 200k miles.

My ex loves his Toyota Tacoma, nice dependable wheels. he has a 4 cylinder, no extended cab, no bells and whistles. Gas mileage should be good, check Consumer Reports. Your local library should have Consumer Reports available.

I would look to the ford ranger or mazda since they are both the same truck. I also like the nissans before they went to the plastic look.

I used to have a Toyota truck. These are compact and get great gas mileage. Just keep up with the engine fluids and tuneups.

Toyota but not Tundra it is fullsize. I think is the T100. The Tacoma is really good. Also a Mazda B-series is good. If you want domestic the Chevy S-10.
