Can being a notary without passing the Bar Exam get a decent paying job?

Why are intelligent people expected to get a job in high paying occupations such as doctors or lawyers?

  • It pisses me off that people expect the straight As in high school to get high paying jobs such as thse in the medicine field or science field. Why do people keep expecting intelligent people to get high paying jobs? I for one was expected by my momto become a doctor because I got straight As in school. But I wanted to be a club pro for boxing instead. So I did not go to college and started my boxing school.Even though I have low pay I though all the years of being a club pro was worth not getting a high paying job such as doctoring. To this day my mom is pissed off at me for not choosing medicine as my career. I know lots of people who are now miserable becuase they chose high paying jobs they don't care about just for money. For example almost every Straight A student who grtaduated from my school face stressful lives of being a doctor. The ones that don't have low paying jobs they love such as being a writer. Just because a person gets high grades does not mean he wants to have a high paying jobe !My priest had the chance to become a scientists(where he could have recieived at least half a million per year) but instead he became a priest. His parents were angry at him for wasting his intelligence but he tells me that money is worthless and that being a priest was an occupation he really loves. What do you think?

  • Answer:

Its prob because there parents want them to be a doctor or a lawyer hope my parents don't want me to be any of the things lmao

I think parents over expect without asking their children what they want to do. I have wantd to be a writer since age 14.5 and am on track to do it. But they are on you have to have a job kick. Well, I don't want to be a traditional worker bcause all that brings a person is mentak anguish and feelings of inadequecy that seems to exude from the management staff on a daily basis.

Well thanks to you, because you didn't want to be a doctor, now I've got to get operated on by a moron.

They think that you should make "the most" of your brains, which to the unimaginative, means "making the most money". Apparently your priest's parents feel that he is wasting his talents even though he is following his vocation (btw quite a few priests have also had careers in science, such as the guy who came up with the Big Bang Theory, the theory not the TV show). I would hate to employ the services of a doctor or a lawyer who hated their job and was only there to make money.

People expect more intelligent people to take those jobs because they think it takes higher intelligence to do those jobs. It takes more dedication to do those jobs than just intelligence. I do believe though that there are some who are highly intelligent in their jobs, but are the dumbest people who you will ever meet outside their jobs. It surprising that they can function at all. I think you have shown that it takes intelligence to know how a person can be happy without having to go into a career they would hate. Most people do not have that kind of intelligence.
