How do you make very sticky tape?

How do you make a duck tape flower that makes a spiral?

I know how to make duck tape flowers, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make it spiral... I have tried a gazillion times and I just can't get it right... I am making them for my friends wedding and I am just trying to make sure they look perfect!
