why not just eat or drink the ashes , much more symbolic the dead will always be part of you and you can do it very ritualistic with wine on full moon . whilst deflowering somebody sounds a lot more fun than a painfull tatoo that can go septic. i suppose if you mixed the ashes with the ink ,it might produce an inferior ink ask the tatooer.

I think it would be a great way to keep a part of somebody that has passed on with you, but as Melis__A has already pointed out that it could cause a reaction from the proteins that may have not been destroyed in the cremation process. I know for sure that their is a law pertaining to the dumping of cremation ashes, and I believe it has something to do with making sure that it is not dumped where it can get into the public water supply.

What an interesting question! What a way to always carry a piece of someone with you! However - I don't think you'll find someone willing to mix ash in with the ink. They would probably lose their license for one - and for two, your body would likely perceive the ash as a foreign protein and attack it and you would end up with a nasty reaction / infection type thing going on. Cool idea - although it probably wont work.

I don't think so. It would mess up the consistency of the ink, and would most likely make the tattoo less even and permanent. (See: it would flake off in places) It may also get infected more easily. My guess is that you are getting a tattoo in memoriam of someone, which I think is respectable. But, I would suggest getting the tattoo sans ashes and putting the ashes in a place where you can see it daily. If you're still unsure, contact your local, best reputed tattoo parlor.
