What does kitsch mean in art?

This is certainly different from any definition of "kitsch" that I know. Kitsch is meant to show a *lack* of craft, but with a design that will appeal to the public overall. Andy Warhol certainly had a strong kitsch element, as did Roy Lichtenstein. I don't see that in this work.
