Who are some current minimalist artists?

Do you think that people who become artists, become that way from genetics or their environment, or both?

  • Answer:

Its partly genetics and partly taught. I was not always naturally as artist...I was encouraged to read books and learn the piano. In my twenties, I started painting...and in my thirties ran a flower shop. It was in my fifties that I started a Photography course, was led back into painting, and am now an artist.. I believe it is part of you, but it has to be developed. Training and teaching will develop an innate skill we already have. It is said that every child is an artist...that schools then 'kill' this artist ability when you start to realise your work is 'not as good as others'...that is so true. I believe we all have the ability, and can be trained to develop it. Many are now working with digital technology and a whole new world of art and artists is developing. If you want to be an artist..say you are an artist and you are one.. Yes...it is that simple. and Yes...you can teach yourself..I taught myself all the computer know how I now have, and you too can do my journey by using my links.. Just do it and be it... http://Groups.yahoo.com/group/creativeartists2

I think it has a lot to do with environment, most people would be more creative if they had the time to persue it.

Genetics allow an artist to place themselves into a reality that allows them to tap into their creativity. All people are creative in the right environment, however, a outstanding artist is more genetically inclined to create brilliance.

Both. Some are naturals and some are influenced by their environs. Peace.

cuz they want to.

I think it's both. I also think it depends on your definition of art. I enjoy primitive art painting but I can't draw a face, unless I want it to be simular to Picasso. Same as with music. I think any attempt that is listenable is an art form but not all are going to have the talent as Mozart.

I think it is both. If someone wants to paint or play music, they find a way to do it. I think a person becomes a great artist because they receive encouragement- from family or friends. Is it easy to become great? I think great artists have this inner passion and drive to pursue their art, and find a way financially to continue on. And, I think success is something an individual needs to decide for themselves. Certainly good training is helpful, but I think the genes you have also put you in the great column. It's not an easy life or path to follow- but if it's your passion you'll find a way to be involved at some level- maybe as a docent explaining art to others, or as a DJ playing music.

i think it is mainly because of the honing of your artistic skills. Genes do play a minimal role. But in the end your dreams, your talent and your perseverance matter Not your genes. any genius is not born they are moulded and honed. and as far as environment goes i think it plays a very minimal role in artistic moulding.
