What art movement would you recommend for a art project?

  • i have to research an art movement over the summer holidays...I then have to produce a piece of work based on my research and the movement. Any really good suggestions on art movements!!?? thank you

Where are you based? Are there any museums and galleries nearby? This could influence you, the more field research you do, the funner your work will become.Don't do everything on the internet. Go out, visit galleries, go to the library and attend art talks too. ( even if it doesn't have much similarities with the art movement you've chosen!) -Pop art is great fun, still young and vibrant 50 years on. -Dadaism is what I would go for, along with Surrealism. It's a great choice if you are quirky and have a sense of humour and wonder. -Cubism is more technical, but the history of art behind it is very interesting. -Impressionism will be more studious but the knowledge is beneficial. (If you live in the London aera, you will be spoiled for choice of galleries) And on and on and on !
