How do I look up topics(hotels) for a research paper?

How would summarizing on a research paper look?

• i want to summarize a part of a story in order to make a point in my research paper. Do i assume that the reader knows nothing about the stories i mention? The person who is going to read my paper already read the story. In fact she taught us about it.
