Trumpet for a beginner?

How easy to learn is a trumpet? Any good resources you could point me too, books/websites (free is good :) ) I want to get a musical instrument to mess around with, I'm a complete beginner when it comes to music though. I am not interested in really mastering it but would like to learn a few tunes to mess around with (don't want to learn to read music). I am thinking of spending around £100 for a trumpet and case ($150). Do you think it would be a real waste of time? Many thanks

Music is a great stressbuster.............before you buy a trumpet listen to Kenny G HIS works will inspire you .......you could get trumpet lessons from youtube i think!
