How can I analyze my simple project using sonar?

Need help with summer project! its for art and design.?

  • the project says: The subject for your drawings must focus on ONE of the following environments: Fairground / Playground Woodland / Hedgerow Dockyards Allotments Coastline I choose Fairground / playground. i don't understand the rest bit; Use unfolded, flattened out boxes as your surface. use a variety of different sizes, e.g. a matchbox, large scale storage boxes, shoe box, product packaging. make a connection between your chosen packaging and the environment that you choose to focus on as your subject. you may wish to incorporate elements of the original design into your new work. you must produce 5 works in total. scrutinize your subject work obsessively examine things in intricate detail analyze and interpret what you see. you will find some of the following artists useful as a starting point to support your early thoughts and ideas: Maria Viera di silva Karen stiehl osborn Euan uglow etc Contextual references should be documented and written about in your A5 sketchbook. Work must develop and evolve using predominantly horizontal and vertical marks. you should use a range of media and material to make these marks. these should be both traditional; stick & ink, charcoal, graphite, paint, or more. experimental; torn paper, string, a 4" decorating brush, biro, stitch, bleach, scoured lines, cut-up photos etc. I HAVE MY OWN IDEAS, BUT I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS PROJECT, HOW TO GET HELP, SHOULD I JUST SKETCH MY THOUGHTS? OR MAKE A PROJECT BY USING MATCHBOX. :s AM CONFUSE PLEASE HELP. many thanks x. :)

  • Answer:

I think fairground is too difficult I would go for something much more abstract - coastline or woodland Have a look at for ideas http://www.karenstiehlosborn.com/Images/CanyonStorms.gif Find watery/cloudy/sandy (fish packs?) looking packaging or leafy/woody (berries/fruit?) looking stuff to make your collage base on the flattened out pack (a different size pack for each of your five pieces) then add other bits to mkae your scene or abstract representation.
