How do you license an art design or pattern?

Dress making Art and Design project ideas?

• For my Art and Design folio project at school I have to design a dress on the theme of butterflies. I have decided and made a base corset ready to be decorated. I have no idea what to design on it though. I have several pieces of blue and orange materials and I have chosen to use these colours as they contrast well. The corset is going to look similar to this... http://iuliana.jp/gal/ButterflyCorset/123.png but with my own design on it. It will be laced up at the back. I thought of using the blue and orange material to make pleats and stick them onto the corset and use a round shape to layer up and make different sizes of butterflies on the corset. But I don't think this will work well and I would like some ideas on what I could do. I also have to work out on how to do something for the bottom part of the dress but I have no idea. I was thinking of making large black cardboard wings with orange material stuck to it to show the pattern of the wings and stick these to the corset. I don't think my idea is strong enough to pass at Intermediate 2 level, I have a lot of pressure on me to get this finished in 4 weeks so please help? Ideas will be very much appreciated, feel free to add links of pictures too!

  Do a lot of research, look at many pictures of butterflies and artists/designers that inspire you. After this create a mood board, making it easy to know exactly what you are going to do. Be creative, try something new and different, never be afraid of trying something new! Also ask your parents/friends what they think of your work, to help you improve. I like the mixture of colours you are using, and if you find a picture of a butterflu with the same colour scheme it would be great help! Im sure your work will turn out to be great!! Good luck :)
