Ideas for a creative and inventive self-portrait?

Creative ideas being blocked?

• So I have this REALLY annoying problem where I instantly get mental, creative blockage if I hear/see another person's really great idea. I can't seem to be able to come up with anything else creative of my own, it all leads back to that one original idea someone else had. Basically, that someone else's great, creative and original idea gets in the way of my thinking of a great, creative, and ORIGINAL idea. I hate to (and never would intentionally) copy someone else's creative idea to any degree. I just seem to think (subconsciously, anyway) that no idea could ever be better than that creatively. Does ANYONE have ANY helpful tips has to how I can overcome this creative block? Please help! I really want to be able to freely think for myself.

  I would suppose this is in relation to writing? If so, then I would suggest writing on a general prompt to get your creative ideas flowing. That way you won't be copying anybody's ideas, and will be forced to develop your own. Write whatever comes to mind. I've included a list of interesting prompts in my sources. I have had difficulty with such a block before and it took time to overcome. It takes mental training (not necessarily exercises, but continually directing the mind towards other creative ideas of your own - perhaps by starting with a general idea [at first], like a prompt.) Additional Comment: Prompts could work with that too, makes for an amusing vlog, to say the least.
