Art college or regular college?

Can credits from art school be transferred to a regular 4-year college?

I'm considering attending an art school, but I was wondering if, after 1 or 2 years of attending the art institute, I decided I wanted to transfer to a regular college to major in something other than art, would I be able to transfer the credits I earned in art school to the regular college? Or would I have to begin over again?
Answer:

It depends on the art school's accreditation. This, and the fact that you may change your career goals after you graduate, is the reason my husband wants our son to go to a university. That way you take a variety of courses, you can easily change your major, and if you ever did change your mind about a career in art, the university degree would be more marketable Good luck.
