How does shoe companies and clothes designers do it??

• im wondering how shoe companies and clothes designers do it....it seems like they take the same shape of shoe and or same style of shirt but just put different patterns/designs on it.... because to me it seems like Adidas,Converse,and Reebok are copying off each other but is it almost like jackets or something? its the same style but people put their own twist to it? so could i use the same style but put my own patterns and designs to it? And if i wanted to sketch clothes and shoes for a clothing line how and what do i need to sketch?

  All tops are basicly the same shape so you just need an original pattern on it to make it your own. as for shoes, its not so easy as all the main brands have their own shapes and so on, you could adapt one of them to make it your own. The do all basicly copy each other! When one has a good idea the others all just change it a tiny bit and cash in! Good Luck Christabelle. xxxx
