Walmart or any store that has yarn usually carries books on how to crochet. The stitches aren't that hard to remember, it is the flexability of your fingers that you will need to work on. If you hold the yarn too tight, your stitches will be tight and your creation smaller than anticipated. Keep that in mind if you try to follow a pattern!
