Anyone familiar with New Zealand charity KidsCan: is it reputable? Worth contributing to?

Has anyone heard of the New Zealand charity KidsCan? I would like to help New Zealand kids from poor families and this charity apparently provides food, clothing, and educational help. I was reading about it in a New Zealand newspaper and tried to call for more information. But the only answer was from a machine. And the message seemed to have been left back in January! Also, the website doesn't really show any specific information about how donors' money is used. Also, the payment page seemed pretty primitive. I felt uncomfortable about putting my payment information there... So the whole thing seems a little fishy. Does anyone know if this is a real charity? If it is, does anyone know how I can get more information? Thanks.

agreed with the first answer, also the telethon last year i think it was, raised money for kidscan. Its a good charity, giving money to kids here.
