What is LIMS i know is LIMS stands for Laboratory information Management systems.?
-
can anyone explain what it is, its for my science coursework
-
Answer:
It is database to store data. Labs produce data (it is their product), and the LIMS makes managing all that data easier/possible. It can be as simple like associating a sample with a result or complex by incorporating inventory, reagent tracking, instrument interfacing, work assignments, sample tracking (as it processed through the lab), billing, etc. Basically anything a lab does. Similar systems would be MRP, ERP, and MES systems.
