When would content analysis be used as a qualitative method of measurement?
-
I would like to know when and under what circumstances would content analysis be used as a qualitative method of measurment in social science?
-
Answer:
If you were evaluating a textbook in terms of being gender fair, multi-cultural, and up to date you would need to do a very detailed content analysis. While some of this could be quantitative...how many pictures of various types of people, for example...the up to date nature of the material would not be subject to number crunching. That is one example.
