What are the 3 basic functions of social work?

What are the functions of social work?

  • Answer:

Social Work has many functions. It is the study of society as it is today; to understand how we came to be the way we are as a society; to try to predict the way society .can be in the future. We need to understand ourselves, as individuals within society and also to understand the world picture as it is and can be. Understanding all of this in turn qualifies us to change, for the better, the things we can within the society in which we live. The political power to change and manage the world in which we will live in the future. Mainly a social worker will have the opportunity to help others to understand themselves and continue to work toward a world where there is no poverty, not so much greed and equality for all.
