Would it be unusual to double-major in Psychology & Sociology?

POLL:What degree to I pick of of sociology/psychology?

  • I have a passion for social science, and got A*'s on My GCSE Sociology & Psychology, and A*'s on my A level Sociology & psychology. I don't know which one I like better, and my teachers have written me a great reference for each subject, so I'm at a dead end. Which one do I do a degree in? ALSO, If I was to take an anthropology degree, I'd be accepted straight away, and looking into it, I find it fascinating. So, out of: Sociology, Psychology Anthropology Which degree would you suggest I take?

  • Answer:

Whichever of the courses you take, you're probably going to have to spend more years getting Masters, doctorates etc before you can get a decently paid job, although from a job perspective I would say psychology as there is more call for psychologists then any of the others, however, do be prepared for having to do more study then your basic uni degree, My sister was told she would have to qualify as a teacher and teach for a year before she could becaome a psychologist, but then you would also have to do other courses for te other subjects when you finish your degree. So, as a bare minimum edge over the others i would say psychology. But, if you get the chance go out and work for a year instead to clear in your mind what you actually wanna do with the rest of your life before you jump into a degree, thats speaking from experience.
