What different between science and social study?

What can I do for a scientific or social science field study?

• I have to either observe something in science or social science. The purpose is to derive a question that I want answered, and then answer it in a 5 page report. My professor said with natural science, I could observe something on campus... like how student traffic in a particular area effects life for squirrels or birds... with Social Science I could pose a question to students and gather feedback via surveys. I'm not sure what I should do!

  I once released a pair of normal white ducks that had been penned and caged and raised only for eating into a pond with other ducks. First off, it was fun to see them take flight for the first time, but also I noticed that they were shunned by the regular adult Mallard) pond ducks. But as the baby Mallard ducks grew to adulthood, the white ducks were able to join them as a group.
