What are the basic economic terms?

In regards to social work, what do the terms social and economic justice mean?

  • I am in the process applying to a undergraduate program for social work. One of the questions I must answer in my essay is, "Write a brief paragraph about your understanding of the terms social and economic justice." I originally thought this would be a simple task until I began researching the topics. The more research I do, the harder it seems to concisely explain the terms. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Answer:

soc: the poor kid gets to school. free books no fees. minority gets preference for school/univ. neighbourhood activities for lower class. econ: fair employment to all. the poor kid can still climb up without hindrance 'cos he is from low class background. poverty is reduced by giving some handouts / no freebies. employment opportunities for minority - soc/econ J
