What is an "open" interview?

What exactly goes on at an open house interview?

• i applied at a airline company for a fa position a week later i got an email to complete another application form which was on a saturday that following friday i recived a call to attend a open house interview. what is a open house interview and should i get excited

  I, personally, don't put much stock in them. To me, it's like a cattle call. They tend to want to quickly eliminate the worse cases and then focus mainly on the people who are perceived to be exceptional. If you are an average to above average candidate, you will tend to be lost in the shuffle of endless and mindless interviews and chat sessions. I feel that they are a waste of time.
