Game Programming or Game Art?

I dont know what path to choose?

  • So i'm 16 and figure i should probably start aiming my life in a certain direction, but heres the thing, i have no idea what direction to go. My whole life i have had an intense love for science and piano which were the focal points of my life, but when i hit high school, the passion for science waned as others grew. I became much more interested in art, i found out i am very talented at video game design/programming, and have rediscovered my old passion for acting. So the thing is, i have just a basic skill set in each of these, and am not sure which one i should pursue further in life since i love them all. I absolutely love telling stories and creating new worlds and using my imagination which is where the video game design and acting comes from, but i also love knowing how things work which is where the science comes from. Basically, is it too late to start on any of these three things in life? cause i thought lots of people started acting when they were really young, like taking classes at 10 but im 16. I just don't know which path to follow or if i have what it takes for any of the paths. I'll admit it. i'm scared to take a risk in life and go for one of these passions. so how should i go about discovering which path to choose?

  • Answer:

Graduate high school first. Computer programming will never ever be a bad vocation, we will be needing them for the next 100 years.
