Why do some men get so indignant and angry about women having c-sections?

  • Women may now have the right to elective c-sections on the NHS on request: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/8745403/NHS-may-give-women-right-to-caesarean.html The vitriol and ignorance in the comments in this article are quite astonishing. Do some men seriously think c-sections are easy? Women usually only request them because of the (possibly greater) risk of complications during childbirth. With regards to money, emergency c-sections - about 15% of all births according to the article below - are far more expensive and carry a much greater risk of complications than planned c-sections, not to mention the cost of ongoing medical problems from natural births/emergency c-sections. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8328049.stm I'm actually surprised that women aren't already given the choice to freely choose their method of delivery.

  • Answer:

Because 'some' men like to see women suffer, it's as simple as that.

better question-->>why do you sam, look at the entire world in a "Men are bad" and "women are good" mode? Most men could care less about this, but you CHOOSE to frame it as if the few men quoted in the article speak for most men. they don't. And if you're truely trying to say "why do a tiny minority of men.." . well, a tiny % of any population have crazy views. As do a tiny minority of women.

Men don't get indignant or angry about women having C-sections. I think the majority of men support any method of delivery as long as it's the safest one for the woman they have a child with. Hope I helped ! :) -Vanessa <3

Wow, a feminist trying to make men look bad. What a shock.

I don't agree with that. c-sections are a major operation. You have to stay is hospital for 3 days afterwards (NHS hospital food is virtually inedible and you wouldn't feed it to a hungry dog. I have been to hospital and had people bring food in) and I hate hospitals. It's also difficult to walk/move after a c-section and there is the recovery time. Yes, natural labour hurts, but there is always an epidural. I had one when I gave birth and it was wonderful. EDIT: I don't agree with it because it's worse for the health of both Mother and baby and poses more risks. Natural delivery assisted in a hospital is much less likely to be risky. I think that a c-section should only be when the baby can't come out any other way or the Mother has been in labour for too long.

Sam - who cares? Who cares if 'some men' get angry? Why are they even a factor in considerations? As soon as you begin to 'own' someone else's emotions, you begin to lose your own center. That other person begins to 'own' YOU! They get to call the shots about your actions/feelings and perhaps even degrade your emotions by making you a focus for their anger. There is literally no upside for you personally. Pay attention to what you want, even if someone else becomes hateful or angry. It is the only way you can be sure to succeed and fulfill your self.

My brothers wife had to have one, she tried naturally but it didn't work, i think that's the way it should be.

people are entitled to their opinions. personally, I would choose natural with an epidural. c section means a longer recovery and healing period.

These "men" of whom you speak are called "doctors". And they are not "indignant and angry", as you say, they are giving medical advice (which is their job). --------------------------------------… ...But a number of prominent doctors argue that it should be up to a women to choose her mode of childbirth after being appraised of the risks and benefits. While babies born by Caesarean are more likely to have respiratory problems, there is no increase in mortality...
