Is there a difference between man's and woman's body temperature?

• I have felt that women have lower body temperature than men. As I have felt like that when I touch them ( my female family members, relatives and friends). This is not regarding the "Ovulation" is happening. As I have felt womens' skin colder when they are above 70. Also my body temperature is quite normal as I have tested it. Is it just an imagination? It is cool and I like how it feels. I tried to find it out but I couldn't find it that easily. So I thought ("why bother?") of posting it here , so then I can get many answers. I think if women feel that if man's body temperature is higher if you touched a man, then definitely woman's body temperature is lower. I know temperature varies time to time and how active the person is. I want to get a general idea. (BTW I asked a question few hours earlier, but it didn't appear on the main-board.   Yes, but the reason is simple and has nothing to do with breeding In general, men have approx. 50% more lean muscle mass per lb. Lean muscle mass requires more energy to run and so increases the metabolic rate to process calories into usable fuel for muscle. This causes men to have a higher exterior temp. If you compared a very lean woman to a fatty man you would see an exception, but as a general rule the above is true.
