Why are the vast majority of Darwin Award winners men?

For the same reason that awards of heroism are also dominated by men. For example, the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission recognized 676 acts of heroism between 1989 and 1995 and 92% of the heroes were male. The Darwin Awards are simply looking at the other side of this coin. Men are risk-takers. Some evaluate the cost/benefit of potential risks better than others.

Probably because men are prepared to take more risks in an attempt to drive human progress. Edit: The same masculine spirit of adventure lies behind attempting to have sex with a moose and inventing a spaceship to fly to the moon.

There are 2 answers I can think of straight off the bat: 1) The person who compiles this is a woman and she is determined to make men look stupid; 2) Men have a tendency to more risk taking activities and therefore are more likely to die in stupid accidents (and of course much more mundane ones like car crashes). I guess the 'MRA's will moan that it is the first one, but the second one is more likely I think - but then I would as it is my opinion (based on the facts)!

If you split everything up into male/female black/white christian/Athiest you will always find differences you cant really argue on the moose comment when their are countless videos of women having sex with horses on the internet

You know darn well it's a feminist conspiracy to keep Dumb Female stories out of the press because we hate men.

Why do Feminists always have to take count and keep score? The fact that the first thing you look at whenever a man makes an accomplishment is the fact that he's male...this is a very sexist act and exposes your bigotry. Why not see us all as individuals, instead of members on either side of a two-sided gender war? Maybe fewer women tried, maybe it's coincidence, and not part of a male conspiracy.

It's those whacky Y (broken X?) chromosomes. The moose lovers compliment the Nobel laureates and Pulitzer Prize winners. There is a noticeable discrepancy in your disdain for men than women. For example when a man is dumb, you insult him. When a woman is dumb, you substitute a man to insult instead of her. I recall you saying you do not make blanket negative statements about men. Do you stand by that claim? No?

Well, I could give a very deep psychological anthropological reason for this phenomenon. But basically, its because they are stupid!
