  • I found this article on the internet... thought it was interesting. What do you think about it? I, and many men, have often stopped to ask what do women even do for men? It seems like men have to do everything. Are you gonna fight for me, die for me, live and breathe for me....” The bolded section is what got me thinking... why? Why should he die for you, and live and breathe for you? I believe the greater majority of western women have embodied this same holier-than-thou attitude expression in Kelly Clarksons lyrics. What I can't seem to put my finger on is this: What do women do for men, these days, that's so great, so wonderful, a man should live and breathe for her and die for her? If a man put out an album stating he wanted his woman to die for him, live and breathe for him, most women would scoff, guffaw, laugh, and everything else under the sun, because well, men aren't worthy of such devotion. Maureen Dawd just put out a book titled ‘Are Men Necessary', proclaiming men these days are redundant and of no use. Maureen aside, there has been tons of female-written literature these days stating how useless and outdated the male creature has become to women, and to life. And just like the ‘can't form my own opinion' collective sheep they are, mass amounts of women smirk, take these messages to heart, and beat their chests to the daily tunes of male bashing. But I wonder if any of those women, you women, have stopped and actually asked the question, just what DO women do for men these days? What do men rely on women for, these days? Even with closed eyes, you can see its men who hold up the greater/full burden of relationships, while women usually just enjoy the free ride, doing nothing, as if she is a child being taken care of by an adult. In relationship's these days, women do nothing, while men do everything. Men pay for everything, while women pay for nothing. And no, buying him a pair of socks every now and then does not count. Of course, a lot of girls will read this post and cry bullshit, then tomorrow go to their girlfriends proclaiming, ‘What's mine is mine, and what's his is mine'. Relationships and marriage have devolved into a one way street for men, in which he gives everything, but all she gives in return is sex and cheap ‘emotional support' every now and then, which really balls down to her bullshitting long enough to keep her slave in line. Even out of relationships, men are the beasts of burden who do the ‘heavy lifting' needed to keep the world spinning. All the dangerous or disgusting jobs you never hear about – the jobs that women steer clear of are usually 100% entirely composed of men. Overall, women do nothing for men on the large scale basis – women are entirely consumers in the world, while men are the producers. Women do none of the dirty, dangerous jobs needed to keep our cities healthy and sanitary. Women do none of the ‘heroing' and chivalrous jobs needed in times of emergency. Think hurricane Katrina... all the people doing the rescuing were men. I'm sure there was like one woman here or there, but any shots in news, magazines (women's magazines) you will see an entire cast of male rescue workers.     Oh brother that essay was Beautiful. I feel the same way about women. My friends and I will often have long conversations about how worthless women really are. You hit the nail right on the head with a lot of your comments. It is good that you are an independent thinker. Most people are not able to see the logical inconsistencies that exist in their arguments. Whenever I attempt to have a civil, logicial discussion with a woman about any kind of social, political, racial issue they start shouting or get frustrated when you unravel their world view. I applaud you for having the courage to state how utterly useless women are. It is not popular to state your opinion on this topic. Youre not alone out there in the world. There are other men who realize that women are selfish, ignorant, emotionally unstable, liars, lazy, bad parents, drains on society, always blame others for problems, cant solve their own problems, have to call 2 parents, 6 girlfriends, 2 boyfriends just to get their opinion before their feeble minds can make a decision. But thats life. Look up H.L. Mencken's opinions on women. A good quote of his "Love is the delusion that one woman differs from another." "Love is an emotion that is based on an opinion of women that is impossible to have for anyone who has had any experience with them." So what we learn from this is that ALL women are retards. Dont let them fool you into loving them or spending half your paycheck on their worthless asses.

wtf? Excuse me, but what decade do you live in? >free ride? You do know that most households must have two incomes working to survive these days. That includes the wife working. I know women who earn more and/or equal money than their husbands. The average woman college professor gets ~60K. Women don't do dirty work & only men showed up after Katrina? wtf? You believe that BS? Please go look up how many women are in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Don't forget women who are police and firefighters.

Well women bear children and supports their man. But you have to find the right type. You got to put in work because a good woman is not going to fall on your lap. But I understand how you feel. I think ANY WOMAN who AGREES with Kelly Clarkson's song shouldn't even be considered worthy of ANY MAN's TIME!

i buy my fiance's clothes for him, because otherwise he walks around looking tatty i always make sure that he has enough to eat when he is ill i make sure that he's not silly and he that actually SEES a doctor and i look after him i wash his clothes for him i do his dishes i pick his mess off of the floor i clip his fingernails when they get too long i am there for him everyday and i tell him i love him i do stuff for him because he does stuff for me he looks out for me he hugs me and loves me he carries the shopping when it's too heavy he fixes anything in our home that breaks he comes with me if i need to go out after dark he sticks up for me when his mother is unkind to me if something goes funny on my laptop, he'll have it OK within minutes usually he's generous and always shares with me because i am pregnant he insists that i sleep with all the pillows we pay for things equally i also think that those lyrics that kelly clarkson wrote are great, i couldn't agree more.

You seem to have looked at only one side of the argument. Women raise families. Women cook. Women do all the housework. Women clean up after their slob husbands, and look after them when they come home legless from the pub. They earn income just as much as males do. In the past, all women were expected to stay at home, raise a family, look after their husbands and do the housework. "Housewives". Now that they are gaining indepedence - getting jobs, asking for men to actually start respecting them, raising families - they get this BS from people like you whose argument basically seems to say "why should I do anything?". Your question is extremely ignorant. I know many admirable woman who have to juggle their work, their families (husbands included) and squeeze in what little free time they get. Sure, men have to do the 'heavy lifting' and the 'dirty' jobs - if by that you literally mean heavy lifting (I'm pretty sure than men are stronger than women) and getting rid of the creepy crawlies from the house (yes, most women are afraid of them). Or maybe you're talking about the 'I don't want to break a nail' girls - yes they exist, but they are a minority. I have witnessed a LOT of divorces, and every single time it was the MAN who was left in a dribbling mess, living on takeaways and hiring a maid to do the cleaning because he was so used to having a wife to reply on to get these 'menial' tasks completed. Your question is extremely biased. It is unfair to say that women give nothing yet expect everything - your description is practically a "golddigger". Try looking at both sides of the argument and then drawing up a fair conclusion.

I agree to a point. Some girls want to be waited on hand and foot but not all. Just like not all men want to do for women. It used to be women stayed home to raise the children, cook, clean, etc while the men brought home the paycheck. And yes, men do have some pretty disgusting jobs to do. Nowadays, a lot of men think all they have to do is sit home on their tush while the woman makes the living. Guess that's what we get for crying for "Womans Rights". I feel that to make a relationship work it has to go both ways. Each have to lend a helping hand. So don't say Women don't do anything for men because there an awful lot of Men out there that don't do a thing for women.

You need to move beyond the idea that men pay for everything. Why don't men appreciate feminists more - femnism encourages women to be independent. I'm sorry - your whole argument seems based on resentment that men are "expected" to pay for dates. What do men do for women? Oh yes, they are beasts of burden, slaving under the whiplash of women, being forced to work in the sewers. Women have, since time immemorial, looked after and made homes for men. They have cooked and cleaned and taken care of the children and the household. They have seen to men's every need. And most of us, still do, besides earning a living to ease the financial burden on our men. We love our men, we support them, we care for them. We provide companionship and affection, besides all the physical acts we perform. Most women today earn their own living. We are with men because we care about them. We don't need them to provide for us. And guess what? My husband doesn't work in a sewer.And I bet you don't either.
