We need to have programs out they to help the low income?

I need help with resentfulness over why people labled disabled get money and free schooling, while others.... ?

  • ...like the working poor, do not have this kind of help. I live in a homeless shelter and every week it seems the women who have arrests get disability, and grants to return to school, while the women who dont have to work at dead end jobs for forever. (Anybody can go to school sitting on free time, along with a guaranteed income and health care-try doing that at a job where you must work 3 different shifts a week while fighting hunger and illness...). Its like we have a split governmet in the U.S.-go to prison for drugs etc and welcome to Socialist America! We'll even pay you not to work! But on the other hand, Want to be one of the good guys? Haha! Welcome to Capitalist pig America, where the rich people get to treat you like a subhuman! No health care? Die, then! You're replaceable! ...Ah, yes, I am quite ashamed of this feeling. How do I deal with it? I am judging others,I suppose, and yet...at the end of the day, I feel more judged myself...made to feel less than worthy, like I'm a slave, getting nothing in return for my many years hard work and my decision to stay on the right side of the law. No wonder I'm intermittantly suicidal, though not so suicidal as to get any real help from anybody, lol...I am 'replaceable', after all. What brought this on is I cant move out of the shelter where I have lived for 12 years after the city towed my car from the meter shortly after I had arrived at a domestic violence shelter from 3 states away with only my car and the clothes on my back. I was suicidal, but a week later was shoved into a homeless shelter and told to get a job right away. Two other long term residnets of the shelter are trapped here too-all 3 of us lost our cars bq we simply could not afford the $90 per month to park our cars while paying for rent and food. Between us, we have 40 years at the shelter (for real). None of us is collecting disability, tho we three have mental and physical issues. Meanwhile, another resident who has lived here for 1 year is being moved out for free-movers and all paid for by the govn as she awaits her SSD approval, into a free apartment. She has an arrest record (drugs). Like I said-two kinds of America, one is socialist the other is capitalist. The working poor of the US are trapped! Does ANYBODY care about this discrepancy? I need help. Must I become a criminal or become a ward of the state to get a helping hand? I dare people to email this question to legislators and canidates. I am an Independent, and have often wondered if rescinding my citizenship and declaring myself an illegal American would give me access to programs to help people get ahead. How DO I get the help I need? Even with a FT time job, I am homeless? Is this America? I am exhausted. Please, please..

    You just learn to live with it. I have to ask...You have lived in a homeless shelter for 12 years? First I am curious as to how you have access to the Internet if you are homeless. I also wonder if they don't have government housing where you live? Homeless shelters are free to live on so you should be able to save money from the job you are working. I'm not sure what your looking for but it sounds like you are upset because you can't get disability also. Am I correct? Personally, I don't buy all the mental illness crap. Unless you are classified as mentally retarded you should not get to draw a check for being mental. Everybody is having a tough time right now. It makes me really mad at the people who are drawing disability checks when there is nothing wrong with them except they don't want to work. Welcome to the entitlement generation! And you are right about being in trouble and you get more stuff. I have never been in any trouble. Finished high school and what few courses I could afford at a community college I paid for myself. Yet I know 2 females who were arrested multiple times and stayed in trouble with the law so they give one of them a FREE college scholarship to " straighten her out " and she now draws disability and gets welfare and food stamps and does nothing but lay around the house complaining cause her check ain't enough. Wait, maybe I am not the person to help you cause seems I have the same issue with anger over it all. lol

I understand your resentfulness, and while you understand much of the problem, I recommend that you focus your energies on getting out. You are fortunate to have a job and a place to stay. Please go to a serious Christian church or shelter and ask for help. If they don't help, then they are not serious Christians and you should move on to another. Many Christians want to help people, especially people like you who obviously want help and a way out. They can help you make friends and offer good advice. Some people can help you find that door to a better life. God Bless you!

and where might i ask did you find the computer on which you spew your diatribe about having a place where you are the only one not on easy street.from your writings it is apparent that you are disabled,with your main disability being unable to devote the energies that you have expelled here on the forms the government requires to apply for benefits.in all seriousness you are getting a social benefit by having a place to live,where if you would better direct you time on efforts to improve your own situation.i hope you see that the opportunities are available equally to all residence who seek them out.and that the social safety net has kept you aloft all these many years.confusion does seem to be you constant companion,and they share a bed with pity and envy thus robbing you of your magic blanket,which surely would warm all of you and you many manifestations of paranoia.type in ssdi.
