What types of jobs can u get with a sociology degree?art degree?

  • im not sure about what major i want to pursue.its either between sociology and art.but i dont know wat to expect with sociology and what kinds of jobs i can get if i do decide to study that.also what kinds of job can i get if i study art?

    psychology is the study of a person, sociology is the study of people, groups. So in psychology, you would do more one on one counseling with a person, in sociology you would do research papers on groups like women's studies, gang intervention, cultures, things like that. You could be a nanny, day care, senior citizens, child advocate, parole officer, disabled people, human resources. I am not sure what you can do with an art degree. Ask at the university, they track what the students do with their degrees.

When you graduate with a degree in sociology you receive a Bachelor of Arts which really opens up the doors to many careers... most employers don't employ SPECIFIC DEGREES they employ Individuals that hold post-secondary degrees because that shows they have an aptitude for learning and are disciplined. (w/ the exception of engineering, law and medicine). Ideally, most SOC graduates seek jobs in social services, counselling and other similar organizations and a lot also choose to get their Masters degree because it allows them to concentrate their focus on a particular topic of interest rather than the wide range of subjects in sociology. I suggest it over a visual arts degree.
