What are the example for enviornmental impact assesment?

How is the internet a modern example of globalization? And how does it (the internet) impact the world today?

• I'm doing a research paper on globalization. I have all the history (Silk Road, Columbian Exchange), but I need info on modern-day globalization. I know that the internet is a prime example of it- inter-connecting the entire world- but I need more information on it I guess... The wikipedia page has way too much- it's overwhelming. Please help!

  All through history there have been cauterizing activities that made transactions between humans who had been and would continue to be isolated from each other. For example, before a standard for keeping time, man was very uncoordinated and out of touch with each other beyond the normal regions. Fire was one of the most cauterizing things in that it enabled everyone who was able to assimilate it to universalize eating and warmth and eventually on to the universal usage of smelting which enable tools to be produced on a level where large groups of humans could interact using the same methods. Now, in our times we have such organizations such as the ISO that is pushing for the globalization of so many standards that if it weren't for the internet and our ability to intercommunicate at high rates of speed we wouldn't be able to keep up with the modern changes taking place on the technological and intellectual level. We would be hung up and unable to understand the adjustments necessary for us to make our planet a better place.
